Seeing the smug look on the Third Hokage's face, Uchiha Yin felt a surge of frustration.
"So you're saying you want to live with me?"
When Kurotsuchi heard Uchiha Yin say that, her heart inexplicably beat a little faster.
She had no idea why, though, so she ignored it and nodded earnestly.
Kurotsuchi was only being practical. As the Tsuchikage's granddaughter, she had always been well cared for.
Her mother usually did the cooking, so Kurotsuchi had no idea how to take care of herself.
That was why she resisted the thought of living on her own.
But hearing how firmly Kurotsuchi spoke, Uchiha Yin assumed the little girl was just trying to defy him.
He decided to make things difficult for her.
He walked up to Kurotsuchi and looked down at her. "Everyone who lives with me is one of my women. What exactly would you be to me?"
He had only meant to give her a hard time, but to his surprise, Kurotsuchi seriously considered the question...
Guilt struck Uchiha Yin at once. Under the Third Hokage's gaze, he felt even worse.
He was about to say something to Kurotsuchi when she spoke first.
She looked at Uchiha Yin with innocent eyes. "Won't you consider taking me as your student?"
Uchiha Yin's eyes widened in shock.
When he didn't answer, Kurotsuchi tilted her head and asked again.
"Won't you consider taking me as your student? Then I could live with you!"
Looking at her innocent face, Uchiha Yin didn't know what to say.
"I already have students—three of them. Besides, why would I take a hostage as my student?"
He folded his arms as he spoke, his expression demanding an answer.
For some reason, seeing that expression put Kurotsuchi at ease.
