Before Anko could respond, the Anko beside Uchiha Yin spoke first.
"Sure, sure! I'd be happy to meet Master's other students!"
Uchiha Yin smiled at that, though it was a decidedly perfunctory smile.
He could tell Kurotsuchi was genuinely happy, but he could also tell Anko's welcome party wasn't going to be that simple.
That left him in a bind.
If he warned Anko and the others over this, they would probably call him biased.
If he stopped Kurotsuchi from going, she would probably misunderstand him.
It really was a difficult choice.
While Uchiha Yin was still agonizing over it, Kurotsuchi reached out and tugged at his sleeve.
She tilted her head up slightly and asked, "Master, can't I go?"
Her big eyes were full of hope, and Uchiha Yin couldn't bear to refuse her.
Before he knew it, he had nodded and agreed.
Kurotsuchi bounced with delight. "Great! Thank you, Master!"
Then she skipped over to Anko and held out her soft, fair hand.
With a beautiful smile on her face, she said, "Hello, I'm Kurotsuchi! I hope we'll get along!"
Anko apparently hadn't expected Kurotsuchi to approach her so suddenly. For a moment, she almost lost control of her expression.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Anko. I hope we'll get along too!"
She took Kurotsuchi's hand and gave it a firm shake.
Watching from the side, Uchiha Yin found the scene rather touching.
But that heartwarming moment lasted only a few seconds before Anko let go and turned to look at him.
For an instant, Uchiha Yin wanted to leave on the spot.
In the end, he held back and forced a smile at Anko.
"Anko, is there something you want to tell me?"
Anko immediately put on a broad smile.
