Uchiha Yin listened to them and smiled even more broadly. "Well, well. What crime have you two committed? You were only rushing to your deaths. What's so wrong with that?"
He stood to one side with a grin, making a great show of his words.
The two Hyuga brothers broke into a cold sweat and couldn't help taking a couple of steps back.
Hyuga Hiashi immediately dropped to one knee and bowed. "Lord Yin, my daughter Hinata has been abducted. We don't know whether she's alive or dead, but they sent this!"
He handed Yin the note he had received that morning. His expression was deeply respectful, as though he feared Yin might kill them both if displeased.
Only then did Uchiha Yin learn what the Hyuga Clan had tried so desperately to conceal. So that was who they had taken.
At the thought, Yin looked down at the brothers with a smile that was not quite a smile.
Already terrified, both men flushed so deeply that their faces looked ready to bleed.
Yin glanced at the note. With a slight movement of his hand, Wind-Style Chakra gathered and spun in his palm, stirring his hair.
The note fared far worse. It floated above his palm, tossed about as if countless invisible blades were slicing through it, until it crumbled to dust and vanished into the air.
The Hyuga brothers shuddered and instinctively wanted to step back. If that had struck them, they would already be dead.
Yin was now almost certain Kumogakure was behind this. Before coming here, he had received a report from the ANBU agents he had sent out.
It hadn't seemed especially useful: a Kumogakure ninja was heading toward Konoha. Yin had assumed it was nothing unusual and had come here without giving it much thought.
