Chapter 666: A Midnight Showdown
Hizashi Hyuga had always been loyal to Konoha, but Uchiha Yin's words moved him deeply and strengthened his love for the village even more.
Uchiha Yin certainly knew how to win people over. No matter how powerful someone was, it was hard to accomplish much alone.
Not only was Uchiha Yin powerful himself, he also knew how to earn people's loyalty. If he kept this up, ruling the Shinobi World might not be so difficult.
At that thought, both men paused, then smiled. They were getting ahead of themselves.
First, they had to deal with the matter at hand. They went their separate ways to prepare.
After all, this mission could not be allowed to fail. They could not afford the slightest carelessness.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Yin, whom both men were desperate to avoid, had appeared at ANBU. He wore a broad smile, yet there was something menacing about him.
I'm done for! That was Uchiha Itachi's only thought when he saw Uchiha Yin walking toward him. He groaned inwardly, but he also blamed himself. He must have overlooked something.
With a solemn expression, he lowered his head before Uchiha Yin and bowed respectfully. "Lord Yin!"
Uchiha Yin did not answer at once. He strolled over, sat in Uchiha Itachi's chair, and casually picked up a Shuriken to toy with.
"Itachi, do you know why I'm here?"
Uchiha Itachi did not dare stand. He turned while remaining on one knee. "The mission I took on has made little progress. I accept responsibility for it!"
Uchiha Yin burst out laughing. "No, no. I've just come back from the Hyuga Clan. That matter's settled!"
The laugh only confused Uchiha Itachi. He had no idea what else might have angered Uchiha Yin, so he could only shake his head.
