Hinata had no such complicated thoughts. She was simply delighted to see the person who had helped her, her face bright with smiles.
Watching her, Samui felt deeply conflicted. She felt guilty for having harmed this child, yet also guilty at the thought that she would finally be free.
There was also the emotional sense that she could do something for her village. With all those feelings tangled together, Samui's smile always carried a hint of bitterness.
Watching from across from her, Uchiha Yin found it quite amusing. Although he had not told her exactly what she would have to do once they returned, she had already entertained so many thoughts in this brief span. It was rather entertaining. Her future days in Konoha would probably be even more interesting.
Samui knew nothing of Uchiha Yin's thoughts. Had she known, her already cold expression would probably have turned even uglier.
At that thought, Uchiha Yin smiled and beckoned to Samui. "Come over here. You have to pay some price for what you've done!"
At his words, Samui's tone grew even colder and harder. "I know. You don't need to keep reminding me!"
With that, she strode toward Uchiha Yin with an angry expression, planting every step heavily as though she were stomping on his heart.
In this already silent place, the sound was jarringly loud.
Uchiha Yin looked entirely unconcerned and said with a grin, "You don't have much time left to act so arrogant. You'd better treasure it!"
Although Uchiha Yin spoke lightly, his words still made Samui shudder.
Then she put on a defiant expression. "It's only death. I, Samui, have never feared it!"
At that, Uchiha Yin's expression became inscrutable. "Why would I let you die so easily? That wouldn't satisfy my anger!"
Hearing Uchiha Yin speak
