Hinata kept her head down, not daring to lift it for fear she would see Uchiha Yin laughing at her.
As it turned out, she was right. Uchiha Yin was grinning. "Looks like you weren't lying!"
It should have sounded like praise, but Hinata couldn't hear much approval in it. She desperately wanted to say something, yet no words came to her.
She stopped watching where she was going and fixed her eyes on Uchiha Yin's heels, following him step for step.
Only when the feet ahead of her stopped did she raise her head. Uchiha Yin's tall figure filled her view.
Unable to see past him, Hinata thought they had reached the Hokage Office. Excited, she poked her head out from behind him and looked ahead.
Only then did she realize this wasn't the Hokage Office at all. It was a shop—a ramen shop.
Hinata rarely went out, let alone ate out, so the place was completely unfamiliar to her. Apart from the tempting aroma, she had no idea what to make of it.
Uchiha Yin placed a large hand against her back and gave her a gentle push, sending her inside.
Hinata stared blankly at the stool, which was almost as tall as she was.
Uchiha Yin had thought she would understand once she went in. This reaction hadn't occurred to him, and after a moment's surprise, he couldn't help laughing.
The adorable child stood before a counter much taller than she was, looking utterly lost. No matter how he looked at her, she was too cute.
Teuchi had spotted Uchiha Yin approaching with a child from some distance away. But when he looked again, the child had vanished, leaving him puzzled.
Then he saw Uchiha Yin lift her onto a stool with a smile.
