Minato Namikaze paused to think. Since becoming Hokage, Uchiha Yin had never come here to look through these documents. He had never checked how Minato was handling the work, either.
It was only right for him to come and see. With that thought, Minato set down what he was holding and looked at Uchiha Yin earnestly.
"Lord Hokage, where would you like to start? I'll get everything ready for you!"
Uchiha Yin found Minato's sudden change in attitude hard to take. The kid had obviously misunderstood him.
He coughed and put on a serious face. "I only came to ask how Samui's work is going!"
The smile on Minato's face vanished the instant he heard that.
"Lord Hokage, so that's what you meant by inspecting the work!"
His short remark carried both disappointment and a hint of teasing.
Even Uchiha Yin, thick-skinned as he was, felt a little embarrassed. His mind raced for an explanation.
"Exactly. I trust you completely, so why would I need to inspect your work? I'm confident in my ability to judge people, but I can still make mistakes. Naturally, I need to take a good look at Samui's work!"
Minato knew it was just an excuse for Uchiha Yin to see that woman, but he was still pleased. Praise from Uchiha Yin was an honor in itself.
Still, Minato could only sigh at the way Uchiha Yin used official business for personal reasons. He picked up the documents he had set down, pointed to a desk off to the side, and said, "She works over there. Inspect away, Lord Hokage!"
Then he went quiet and returned to his own work.
