Uchiha Yin was pleased with Deidara's honesty. He smiled and asked, "So what do you think?"
In fact, the moment Deidara nodded and admitted it, he had already decided to turn down that strange masked man. He loved his village, after all, so he shook his head.
Deidara himself showed little reaction. Ōnoki, on the other hand, looked as though he had escaped disaster. He wasn't worried about the heartbreak of his apprentice's betrayal; he was worried that the consequences would fall on Iwagakure's ordinary villagers.
Uchiha Yin gave a knowing look. "Good. But I want you to accept his offer!"
Ōnoki's expression changed completely, his face full of shock. Deidara was confused too. "Why?"
"You've probably heard a little about this organization," Uchiha Yin said evenly. "But what you've heard isn't their ultimate goal. What they're after is far more terrifying. That's why they've been recruiting lately. I want you to join them as an undercover agent!"
Only then did Deidara understand, but he still looked unwilling to cooperate. "Why should I listen to you? You don't understand art at all!"
Uchiha Yin felt his mouth twitch, but he held back and shot Ōnoki a look.
Ōnoki promptly smacked Deidara on the head. "Lord Yin is giving you an opportunity. Accept it!"
Even with his master pressing him so forcefully, Deidara remained reluctant. "I don't want to go. There's nothing artistic about it. I'd rather keep making clay sculptures!"
Uchiha Yin tilted his head in thought. "If you go without making a fuss, perhaps I'll have your master teach you something more artistic!" He glanced at Ōnoki, a clear threat in his eyes. "Right, Ōnoki? You still have that Scroll on Explosive Clay, don't you?"
Deidara stared in disbelief. He hadn't known such a thing existed.
Ōnoki's face changed.
