When Jiraiya heard Uchiha Yin's words, his instincts told him nothing good would come of this, but he let none of it show. Maintaining a perfectly solemn expression, he said, "Please tell me what it is first, Lord Yin!"
Seeing that Jiraiya refused to take the bait, Uchiha Yin was not annoyed. As though he had expected it, he said with a grin, "The Chunin Ninja Exams will be starting soon!"
Jiraiya nodded at that, but showed no intention of playing along. He calmly asked, "And? I remember this year's Chunin Ninja Exams are being held in Konoha!"
Uchiha Yin was in no hurry. He smiled and said, "You'll have a chance to meet Orochimaru then. Still not interested?"
At that, Jiraiya finally turned a serious gaze toward him. "Why would he come?" The instant the question left his mouth, Jiraiya stopped, as though something had suddenly occurred to him. "That side wants to attack Konoha?"
Uchiha Yin smiled. "You figured it out yourself. That saves me the trouble of explaining!" Uchiha Yin spoke very calmly, but Jiraiya did not take it that way at all. His expression twisted, and after a pause, he finally voiced what was on his mind. "They're still children!"
"That's why we should count ourselves lucky, isn't it? It's Orochimaru who's coming!" As Uchiha Yin said this, he genuinely looked just as relieved as his words suggested.
Jiraiya understood what Uchiha Yin meant, but his expression was far from pleasant. "Then why are you dragging me into this?"
Uchiha Yin adopted an utterly matter-of-fact expression. "To put on a show, of course!" Jiraiya choked on his words. With no other choice, he swallowed everything he had been about to say and nodded speechlessly in agreement!
