Kamui was a Space-Time Ninjutsu unique to Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan in the original story. It could transport its user or any object into and out of a personal dimension. Absorbing oneself took longer, but doing so and then reappearing elsewhere allowed for rapid movement.
It could also resonate with another person's Space-Time Ninjutsu, allowing its user to enter that person's dimension. Beyond that, each eye had a different ability.
The right eye could make its user intangible by shifting the part of his body under attack into the Kamui Dimension at the moment of impact. This let him evade attacks and pass through barriers. Its weakness was a time limit: when used with one eye alone, five minutes of continuous attacks could overcome it.
The left eye could transport an enemy or an enemy's attack from a distance, including just one part of the enemy's body. It could be used for offense or defense, but it took time to gather Chakra.
Together, the two eyes brought the Mangekyō to its full power. Kamui wielded with both eyes was practically invincible.
