Normally, Uchiha Yin called Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi "Old Man Third" or just "old man." But now, he had to show Hiruzen Sarutobi some respect and call him the Third Hokage.
Hiruzen Sarutobi smiled, clearly pleased with Uchiha Yin's choice of address.
"Old man" might have sounded affectionate, but they were in front of outsiders. It would have been rude for Uchiha Yin to call him that here.
"Ahem. That's right. When Konan first came to Konoha, I looked into her background. Her record is clean. She isn't a spy from Amegakure."
Seeing everyone turn toward him, Hiruzen Sarutobi coughed twice before speaking.
As Konoha's Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi commanded plenty of respect. Once he spoke, the Ninja below fell silent.
Utatane Koharu was not about to let that stand.
"Then how do you explain Konan being this strong at her age? Most ordinary children couldn't manage it, let alone a refugee like her who started training later than they did."
Utatane Koharu spoke without holding back.
"Hahaha." Uchiha Yin burst out laughing at her words.
"What are you laughing at?" Utatane Koharu asked him, her face darkening slightly.
She could hear the mockery in his laughter, and it infuriated her.
"I'm laughing at your ignorance. You're judging how a genius grows by ordinary standards. How ignorant can you be?"
Uchiha Yin gave her a cold smile.
"Twelve-year-old Chunin are everywhere in wartime. What's so strange about that? Even becoming a Jonin wouldn't be that surprising."
"You should know that Kushina and I could already kill Jonin when we were twelve," Uchiha Yin said with a hint of disdain.
"And how do you know Konan is a genius like you two?" Utatane Koharu pressed, refusing to give up.
"If Konan weren't a genius, do you think I would've brought her back?"
