At the thought, Black Zetsu's face darkened.
He found it hard to believe. If it wasn't his "mother," why did it give off the same aura as her?
There was another way to determine whether the aura belonged to his "mother": he could go to the moon and check.
But that would clearly take longer than finding the source of the aura directly.
Besides, Hamura Otsutsuki's descendants lived on the moon, and Black Zetsu was wary of them.
In Black Zetsu's eyes, Konoha might be safer than facing Hamura Otsutsuki's descendants.
Before long, though, Black Zetsu would pay for that choice.
"Yin? What's going on? Has someone broken in? I knew Kirigakure wasn't holding these Chunin Ninja Exams for something so simple. They must have another scheme."
"Whatever they're plotting, I'll stop them." The moment Hiruzen Sarutobi heard that someone had entered the Forest of Death, his expression changed.
After hearing Uchiha Yin's words, Hiruzen Sarutobi immediately suspected Kirigakure.
After all, Kirigakure had proposed these exams. That made it highly suspect.
"Lord Hokage, should we stop the Chunin Ninja Exams?" Yuhi Shinku asked grimly.
Yuhi Shinku was one of the commanders overseeing the exams and was responsible for security in the Forest of Death.
Hiruzen Sarutobi turned to Uchiha Yin.
"Yin, how many intruders are there? How strong are they?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked.
"There isn't much time left in the Chunin Ninja Exams. No need to cancel them."
"Only one person entered the Forest of Death. I'll be right back."
"And that person might not even be from Kirigakure." Uchiha Yin frowned, then vanished into the Forest of Death.
The sensory Barrier Uchiha Yin had set up could normally detect an intruder's Chakra, or at least gauge their strength.
Strangely, though, the intruder seemed to have blocked his senses somehow.
