"Of course it's true. Why would I lie to you?"
Uchiha Yin had no idea what Kushina was thinking. He said it without a change in expression.
He hadn't lied. He had merely left out what had happened between him and Uchiha Mikoto.
"Mm, all right. I'll believe you."
Kushina raised an eyebrow as she spoke.
She had a fair idea that something was going on between Uchiha Yin and Mikoto, but she didn't press him to tell her.
She was afraid, too. If Uchiha Yin and his cousin had already been in love, wouldn't that make her the outsider?
And what if she pushed him too hard, he got angry, and he didn't want her anymore?
That was what worried Kushina.
She hadn't been in Konoha long, and she knew nothing about Uchiha Yin's past relationship with Uchiha Mikoto.
But even if Kushina didn't dare lay everything out in the open, she could still vent a little of her frustration.
"Didn't you say you smelled nice? Let me check." A sly glint appeared in Kushina's eyes as she leaned closer. Her little nose sniffed at Uchiha Yin's neck.
It tickled. Uchiha Yin reached out to push her head away, but he felt guilty enough that he stopped himself.
Kushina noticed his movement, and warmth spread through her. Hmph. Since you're behaving so well, I won't give you any more trouble.
But she wasn't letting him off entirely. Kushina bit his neck again.
She didn't bite hard, though. She only closed her teeth on it gently.
Uchiha Yin felt a cool touch against his neck and assumed, out of habit, that Kushina was about to bite him again. He braced himself.
But the pain never came.
Puzzled, Uchiha Yin asked,
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing. You just smell so good
