The middle-aged patrol officer had the two younger officers draw their guns and aim them at Su Yi's group. Then he took out electromagnetic handcuffs. "If you don't want to die, behave yourselves!"

Sefni turned toward Su Yi, only to find him completely unruffled.

At that moment, Aolong spoke up.

"Officer, could there be some misunderstanding?"

The patrol officer turned. The moment he saw the Black Sun Group insignia on Aolong's chest, marked with an L4 position, his expression changed.

Aolong might have been near the bottom of the Black Sun Group's ranks.

But he was still a full company employee.

Patrol officers from Rootvine District couldn't afford to cross him.

Aolong walked over and looked at Bell. "These people are all registered full-time employees of my company."

"They're law-abiding citizens. I'm certain my employees would never do anything so unlawful."

"What I'd like to know is why these men attacked my employees."

The patrol officer shot Bell an uneasy look.

Bell's face darkened. "Heh. A misunderstanding. It must have been a misunderstanding."

He hadn't expected these people to have official positions!

His investigation had only turned up that they used to be Mad Dog's underlings.

Even Mad Dog hadn't secured a position back then, yet these people had!

And they'd even gotten someone from the company to step in for them!

No wonder they were so bold!

With Aolong involved, neither Bell nor the patrol officers dared say anything more.

As they were slinking away, Su Yi called out, "Don't forget to clean the ground in front of our company."

"We run a respectable business. We don't want to see blood."

Bell gave Su Yi a long look, then quickly left with the patrol officers.

Aolong turned to Su Yi. "Just as you predicted, the Wolf Fang Gang couldn't sit still."

Su Yi smiled. "Don't worry, boss. Leave the rest to me. I just need you to back me up at the crucial moment."

Aolong nodded, clearly pleased. He patted Su Yi on the shoulder. "I trust you to handle it. Just don't go too far."

After seeing Aolong off, Su Yi sent Alton and the other two back to work. Then he turned to Sefni. "Have you made up your mind?"

Sefni took a deep breath. "All right! I accept your offer. How much can you pay me?"

Su Yi stroked his chin in thought, then raised one finger.

Sefni looked hesitant. "Ten a month?"

Su Yi laughed. "A hundred a month! If I'm happy with your work, two hundred or even five hundred isn't out of the question."

"!!!!!"

Sefni's eyes widened. Her aged face filled with disbelief.

"O-one hundred?!"

The amount Su Yi offered was far beyond anything she had expected.

A hundred Void Abyss Coins a month!!!!

That was nearly what she used to earn in half a year of odd jobs!

"Well?" Su Yi asked.

Sefni finally recovered and answered at once. "Deal! It's a deal! When... when can I start?"

"Tomorrow," Su Yi said. "But I'd suggest using your normal appearance."

"After all, you look too old right now."

Sefni thought for a moment. "All right. I'll go home and get ready."

After Sefni left, Su Yi returned to the company and got on with his work.

While Su Yi researched his target for tomorrow, Emma stood hidden in a corner, her expression conflicted.

Worried about Sefni, she had followed her all the way here. Naturally, she'd heard their entire conversation, as well as Su Yi's declaration of war against the Wolf Fang Gang.

If he hadn't gotten it all over her face back then, he would have been the perfect savior for them.

He was rich, generous, and an enemy of the Wolf Fang Gang.

Most importantly, he could actually tell the Spiritual Cultivation Faction apart from the Desire Cultivation Faction.

"Listen. In a bit, take your people and follow them home. Find out everything you can about their households."

The scar-faced man nodded. "No problem. Where's the money?"

The Wolf Fang Gang member handed him twenty Void Abyss Coins. "You absolutely can't let them spot you. Got it?"

The scar-faced man grinned viciously. "Relax. We've worked together plenty of times, and I've never slipped up."

"Oh, want me to take out that Gheros for you? A hundred Void Abyss Coins will do it."

The man shook his head. "You can't touch him. We still need him to tell us what's happening over there."

"Also, the sacrifices you asked us to transport have arrived. Have your bishop come collect them tomorrow."

The scar-faced man nodded in satisfaction. "No problem!"
