Background and History

Before crossing into the world of Star God, Su Yi worked as a programmer and later in business development. He recognizes his new identity as a boss from the game: a debt collector whose original story ends after players repeatedly capture and kill him. That boss’s background includes a debt inherited from his father and a hidden true-god bloodline 1 2.

Su Yi awakens beside Iris Barrett’s crashed aircraft and rescues her from Void contamination. After his superior Mad Dog steals his rescue reward, Su Yi decides to use his knowledge of the game to escape both Mad Dog’s control and the fate awaiting him at the players’ hands 1. He builds an arms-trading operation with Alton, Mota, and Rijia, then recruits the players Winter and 108 to help kill Mad Dog. Once promoted to Mad Dog’s position, he seeks to replace debt collection with trade 5 6 10 14 15.

His ambitions expand beyond the company. He hires Sefni, cultivates contacts among smugglers and patrol officers, and offers poor residents paid work and training. After rescuing children during an attack at Iris’s charity event, he earns an assignment from her representative Rick: defeat the Wolf Fang Gang and bring Rootvine District’s gangs under his control within a month 23 27 36 38 44. By Chapter 50, Su Yi has recruited four players into his Moon-Drinking Azure Wolf organization and is planning a school at the Kalbanyan Orphanage 50.

Su Yi learns more about the Mist Sage’s role in bringing him into this world and eventually tells Winter that he is a transmigrant from Earth rather than a Player. Together, they tell the Ten Pioneers that their world is real, while keeping his shared Earth origin private from the wider player community 198 552. During the struggle for the seventh Ancient Bronze Gate, he witnesses Wen Xuan’s erasure and the Mist Sage’s disappearance. He often treats money and favors as investments: he cultivates Aolong’s support, offers the players a stake in his business, and recruits residents by giving them a material path out of poverty 11 25 44.

His help can be both compassionate and calculated. He rescues children during the charity-event attack, but also understands the value of the resulting publicity. He pays the Kalbanyan orphanage’s debts while staging events to overcome Kilman’s distrust 36 38 41. Toward Mad Dog’s abusive former crew, he is far less forgiving, arranging for players to ambush them 19 20.

As his responsibilities grow, Su Yi continues to build loyalty through protection, recognition, and opportunities for advancement.
