It's finished, so I'll share a few thoughts.
Thirteen months and 2.59 million Chinese characters. I wouldn't call that especially diligent, but I wasn't slacking either.
Thank you to every reader for your support and encouragement along the way.
I've also come to see many of my shortcomings and mistakes over that time.
As I mentioned before, the idea for this book came to me by chance while watching a Black Myth gameplay demo.
Then I played Honkai: Star Rail, got inspired, and started writing.
Because I rushed into the book on sheer enthusiasm, the pacing ran into major problems in the middle and later sections, around the 1.5-million-character mark.
I apologize to all my readers for that.
That's also why updates have been slow since May.
With this book nearing its end, I've been focusing most of my attention on the new one.
Having learned from this experience, I've been very careful with the new book's outline and setting.
I've also revised a lot of it recently.
Now that this book is officially finished, looking back on what I wrote this past year, I think I tied up most of the loose ends.
The pacing near the end was rushed, but I hope it wasn't a bad ending. Hahaha. (I'm not entirely sure myself.)
Su Yi's journey ends here. A long and happy retirement awaits him.
The protagonist of the new book is about to set out on his own journey.
This book is officially complete today, and the new one should launch within a week.
I still need to revise the pacing at the beginning.
Finally, thank you to every reader for supporting me all this way.
See you in the next book!
