They had never been able to eat their fill of food this fine. Some of them had never even tasted it before!
As the Patrol Bureau officers ate, they thanked Su Yi profusely.
"Mr. Gheros... could I take some home? My wife and child have never had food like this."
Cami, who had fought bravely earlier, asked tentatively.
Su Yi patted him on the shoulder. "Of course, my hero."
"Everyone can take some home. Let your families have something good to eat."
The officers heard the warmth in his words and thanked him over and over.
These dishes had once been reserved for the chief. All they could do back then was watch!
Colt had had a little wine. Slightly tipsy, he sighed. "Constantine, thank you!"
"Without you, I'd still be nobody."
Su Yi laughed and clapped him on the shoulder. "You earned this position yourself, Chief."
Delighted, Colt hugged Su Yi. "If you ever need anything, just say the word."
The other officers were won over too. "Mr. Gheros, if you ever need anything, just say the word!"
Su Yi was pleased. He had no intention of limiting himself to controlling gangs. The Patrol Bureau was too useful to pass up.
Anyone climbing the ranks would encounter plenty of colleagues, superiors, and subordinates.
He could not choose his superiors, but he could choose his colleagues and subordinates.
In Su Yi's view, the most trustworthy people were the old comrades who had climbed alongside him.
He needed more capable people to rise with him.
Colt and Cami both showed promise.
Once everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, Su Yi said with a smile, "We'll be busy taking over the Wolf Fang Gang's operations for the next few days."
"Other gangs will inevitably try to take advantage of the confusion."
