No matter how big or small a Secret Realm was, if Xu Mu showed up, trouble was bound to follow.
Just look. Xu Mu had barely finished dealing with the three bears in the valley and was about to begin special training with his aunt Xu Hong on their turf.
Then a deafening boom rang out overhead, and a pillar of purple light descended!

Host has encountered a special event!] [Leaking Dynamax Energy has caused Eternatus to appear, triggering the Darkest Day!] [Every Pokémon in the valley has entered a Dynamax state!] [Eternatus has entered its Eternamax state!] [Special Mission triggered: Defeat Eternatus. Rewards: a Dynamax Band, plus the corresponding Dynamax forms for Dragonite, Slaking, and Snorlax!]
Xu Mu was stunned!
What?
Dynamax had finally appeared?
Was the world about to end?
Xu Mu could handle it, at least. He had nerves of steel...
But Xu Hong watched purple energy pour from the sky and run wild. Throughout the valley, Wild Pokémon swelled to enormous sizes. It was eerie!
And at the center of that purple pillar stood a giant violet dragon!
Like a skeletal dragon, it had no flesh or blood. It moved through the light like a machine.
"Xu Mu, what's happening?"
Xu Mu felt Xu Hong grab his arm without thinking and turned to her.
"It's nothing," he said quickly. "A new kind of energy has appeared."
With a slight smile, Xu Mu explained, "Besides Mega Evolution, there's another way for Pokémon to exceed the limits of their species' potential: Dynamax."
"It's that purple energy in the sky."
"Once a Pokémon absorbs it, its power increases proportionally, and it gains Max Moves."
"It's fine. That thing up there is behind all of this. I'll deal with it!"
Truthfully, Xu Mu wasn't confident at all.
