When Zapdos defeated Amu Zan's last two Pokémon, he shook his head helplessly.
And just like that, it was over.
More than three years of effort had come to nothing.
He thought back to all the time he and his Pokémon had spent training and struggling through Secret Realms.
Three years of hardship, reduced to ashes in a day.
"Miserable" didn't begin to describe Amu Zan's state.
Perhaps it was an honor, at least, to be the backdrop for Xu Mu's triumph.
Xu Mu turned and strode out of the arena, basking in the spotlights as reporters swarmed toward him.
"Mr. Xu Mu, everyone wants to know how you caught your Legendary Pokémon!"
"Mr. Xu Mu, is there some special connection between Lugia and the Legendary Birds?"
"Mr. Xu Mu, how do you get Legendary Pokémon to follow your commands?"
Xu Mu looked at the sea of microphones before him and slowly smiled.
"How do I get Legendary Pokémon to listen?"
"Easy. I pluck their feathers."
With that, Xu Mu turned and sauntered away.
The reporters exchanged bewildered looks.
"What does he mean? What's this about plucking feathers?"
"I have no idea. If you're plucking a Legendary Pokémon, do you need to scald it first?"
"Ahem. I don't know about that either."
Xu Mu returned to his lodgings. Barely half an hour had passed.
In that short time since the match ended, the story had exploded across the globe.
Honestly, if Xu Mu entered show business now, he'd be the hottest celebrity Trainer around.
Anyone hoping to book him for a show or interview would have to pay an astronomical appearance fee.
There was no denying it: Xu Mu had pulled off one hell of a flex!
"Holy shit... The kid's better at this than I am!"
Far away
