Everyone cleared a space so the students of the first formation and Venusaur could fight freely.
At Xu Mu's call to begin,
the freshmen of the first formation sprang into action!
"Status Group, buff us up!"
"Dog Team, start disrupting!"
"Shield Group, get ready to protect the Status Group!"
"Eagle Team, you're a main attack force this time too. Attack from the air!"
A female student commanded the formation. After so much training, the students had long since grasped the basics of battle.
Against an opponent as individually powerful as Venusaur, she chose to have the Status Group interfere with it.
Her choice wasn't wrong.
The Status Group consisted of Pokémon that could inflict status conditions. They were treating Venusaur like a boss in a game.
That made the Status Group the mages and the Eagle Team the archers.
The Dog Team were the assassins, and the Shield Group were the tanks!
"They're still inexperienced. They should've sent in their Ghost-type and Psychic-type Pokémon to go all out!"
"The Status Group idea was sound, but their execution was too green!"
Xu Mu shook his head as he assessed them.
These freshmen weren't quite there yet.
If they'd thought of a Status Group, why hadn't they thought of having Psychic-type Pokémon use moves like Trick Room, or dirty tricks like Encore?
Then their Ghost-type Pokémon could use Curse to trade health directly.
In a hundred-against-one battle, wasn't wearing down the opponent their greatest advantage?
Sometimes status moves were far more useful than attacks. The key was whether the Trainer knew how to use them properly.
Clearly, these green students didn't!

Xu Mu wasn't going to hold back. If they didn't know how to play the status game, he'd teach them!
Facing opponents on every side, Venusaur showed no
