A skilled Trainer would never let their Pokémon's moves miss like that.
But this group seemed to use moves whenever the mood struck. There was no sign of any careful thought behind their decisions.
Xu Mu could only slap his forehead as he watched. He couldn't say anything, though, or he would defeat the purpose of this trial.
So Xu Mu forced down the urge to step in and watched the battle unfold in agony.
The people on the field were fighting fiercely. Unlike Xu Mu, who had the luxury of watching, they were all sweating from the effort.
Yet not one of them complained. In their eyes, Xu Mu was their idol.
How could they not give it their all in front of their idol?
Machamp was getting angry too. He spotted a blond man directing his Pikachu.
That Pikachu's Thunderbolt had landed a painful hit on Machamp earlier. Now it was still going all out, firing move after move. Machamp had had enough!
When Machamp saw Pikachu preparing to attack again, he made up his mind. His tough hide could take a beating, but Pikachu's attacks dealt special damage, and his special defense was low!
He would ignore the other Pokémon for now. First, he would take down Pikachu. Then he could deal with the rest at his leisure!
Machamp charged straight at Pikachu, all four arms poised to strike.
Watching from above, Xu Mu thought to himself:
If that hits Pikachu, he'll go down on the spot. No question.
Just as Xu Mu expected, Machamp rushed in and grabbed Pikachu. His other three hands swung down hard.
The blond man saw it and shouted to Pikachu:
"Pikachu, dodge!"
But Machamp already had Pikachu in his grip. With no chance to fight back, Pikachu took the blows head-on!
