All he wanted was world peace.
So Cobalion asked the Pope:
"Pope, what has this man done wrong?"
Cobalion's question gave the Pope a headache.
Cobalion was admirable in every way except one: his sense of justice was too strong. Before every battle, he insisted on asking his Trainer whether the opponent was a bad person.
With no other choice, the Pope lied to Cobalion every time, claiming their opponents were villains.

He sprang into the air and seized control of Virizion's mind. As Cobalion rushed in, Chaofan sent Virizion hurtling toward him.
Before Cobalion could reach Xu Mu, Virizion slammed into him at full speed and knocked him to the ground.
Cobalion lay there stunned. Why had that fool Virizion attacked him?
Seeing the two Pokémon in such an awkward state, Chaofan burst out laughing.
At the sound of Chaofan's laughter, Cobalion realized what had happened. That fool Virizion must have been controlled by the Pokémon in front of him.
Virizion was a powerful fighter. The moment Chaofan took control, he fought to regain command of his own body.
