Hidan dodged, but one of his arms was still reduced to dust.

"Kakuzu, what do we do?"

Hidan asked. Most of the White Zetsu had been cleared out, and the Allied Shinobi Forces were closing in.

"Kakuzu, Hidan, wait for my reinforcements!"

Kabuto Yakushi shouted through Hanzō's mouth.

The Allied Shinobi Forces seemed to sense that Kakuzu and Hidan were thinking of escaping, and pressed in even closer.

Hidan's Ninjutsu was far less useful in a battle on this scale.

Everyone knew not to let Hidan draw that strange symbol beneath his feet or get hold of anyone's blood. That severely limited what he could do.

Kakuzu called back his Fire Release and Wind Release mask monsters.

"Combined Ninjutsu: Flame Wind Turbulence!"

The Earth Grudge Fear fire and wind mask monsters joined forces, unleashing Searing Migraine and Wind Release: Pressure Damage at the same time to create a vast sea of flames.

"Kakuzu, what are you doing? Trying to take them down with us?"

The flames inevitably swept over Hidan too. Kakuzu said nothing. His body hardened all over, turning the color of brown earth.

He ignored Hidan's cries of pain. He knew how quickly Hidan's body healed; it was only charred, and would recover soon enough.

Even without Kabuto Yakushi's promised reinforcements, he could use the flames as cover and escape at once!

When the flames died down, charred bodies lay everywhere. Kakuzu grabbed the blackened Hidan and fled.

"I told you to wait for my reinforcements!"

Kabuto Yakushi muttered to himself.

If Kakuzu and Hidan left, Hanzō would be left to fight alone!
