The Plot Begins, the System Updates

In the classroom, a teacher with a scar on his face addressed the students. "Today is the Clone Technique exam! Anyone who passes will qualify as a Genin!"

The teacher held up a Forehead Protector.

The other students passed easily. A blond boy formed Hand Seals with both hands, panic on his face, and produced a clone that lay limp on the floor.

"Naruto fails!"

A blue-haired Chunin teacher tried to put in a good word for him, but the examiner refused. He would not send Naruto on missions when the boy could not even perform one of the three basic techniques. That would be irresponsible with his life.

After school, a blond boy sat alone on the swing, looking dejected.

"Sasuke!"

Uchiha Yoru looked at the Forehead Protector on Sasuke's brow, then glanced at Mizuki as he approached Naruto with ill intent.

The plot has begun!

"Yoru, why are you the one picking me up?"

The moment Sasuke Uchiha saw Uchiha Yoru, his face fell. He would much rather Uchiha Itachi had come for him.

"Show some respect. Call me Big Brother Yoru!"

Uchiha Yoru immediately grabbed Sasuke Uchiha's cheeks and tugged them.

"Hey! I'm a Ninja now!" Sasuke Uchiha snapped, pulling Yoru's hands away.

"Ninja or not, you're still my little brother!" Uchiha Yoru ruffled Sasuke Uchiha's hair.

Their father devoted most of his attention to Uchiha Itachi and managing the clan. He had little time for Sasuke, so Uchiha Yoru and Uchiha Mikoto were usually the ones who looked after him.

Without the clan massacre, Sasuke Uchiha was much more cheerful than in the original story, though his face still rarely showed it.

"Hmph!"

Sasuke Uchiha turned his head away with a huff.

"What's wrong with Naruto today? He looks miserable!"

"That guy? He couldn't even learn the Clone Technique!" Sasuke Uchiha said with disdain.

"One day, that guy might be every bit as strong as you!"

"Him? I'm from the noble Uchiha Clan! That Dead Last is nowhere near me!"

He's Konoha's Dead Last, all right, Uchiha Yoru thought, smiling gently.

"Let's go home! Mother made your favorite Bonito Rice Balls, and Tomato and Egg Stir-Fry too!"

Uchiha Yoru took Sasuke Uchiha by the hand and headed home.

Night fell. A figure leaped through the woods with a thick scroll strapped to his back.

Iruka was wounded, and Naruto's power erupted. He used the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique and beat Mizuki senseless.

The Third Hokage watched the scene through the Telescope Technique. Seeing Naruto learn the Second Hokage's Forbidden Technique so easily, he thought, As expected of Minato's son.

A dark shadow flashed past, and Mizuki's body was carried off by someone else.

Even the Third Hokage failed to notice.

"Find out who took Mizuki!"

Hiruzen Sarutobi spoke to the empty air. Several masked Ninja hidden in the shadows scattered in different directions.

There were still spies from other villages inside Konoha. One had even dared to take Mizuki under everyone's noses. What were they after?

"Wake up! I know you're awake!"

Uchiha Yoru looked at Mizuki, who was pretending to sleep.

"Ahem! I never thought you'd be the one to save me," Mizuki said with a sigh.

"Don't ask questions. I ask, you answer. Otherwise..."

Uchiha Yoru drove a Kunai into Mizuki's leg, pulled it out, then healed the wound with Medical Ninjutsu.

"You'll wish you were dead!"

Uchiha Yoru gave the pain-stricken Mizuki a devilish smile.

"You have a way to contact Orochimaru, don't you?"

"Yes!"

"Can you contact him right away? I have a business deal for him!"

"What kind of deal?"

"That's none of your business. Just tell him Shisui Uchiha's little brother wants to see him. I'm sure he'll come," Uchiha Yoru said. A brother by choice is still a brother. That logic checks out, right?

"All right!"

Mizuki knew he had no grounds to refuse. They would meet at the same spot in three days.

"Three days is too long? Then make it two!" Uchiha Yoru said when he saw Mizuki hesitate.

"Three days! Three days!" Mizuki blurted.

"Good! I didn't save you for nothing!" Uchiha Yoru said with a smile.

Uchiha Yoru smiled like a demon. "You can run away and pretend I never said a word. But then you'll never get revenge for being beaten by a Genin! Tell Orochimaru about me, and I'm sure he'll reward you."

"Fine!"

"Then I'll wait for good news," Uchiha Yoru said, letting Mizuki go.

Uchiha Yoru figured Mizuki still had ambitions and would never run away. Even if he did, Yoru could still meet Orochimaru during the Chunin Ninja Exams. He would just have to wait a while.

If the system had not updated, he would not have been in such a hurry.

That was why he was in such a rush.

"A nap only earns me 100 Lazy Points!"

Only now did he realize how generous the old version of the system had been. If he wanted to buy a Chakra Fruit comparable to the ones he ate every day, he would have to take afternoon naps for more than ten days straight.

"But I can exchange points for Potato Chips, Spicy Gluten Strips, and Lollipops!"

They were pretty cheap, too. The evil system was clearly trying to make him work so he would spend his points on Lollipops and Potato Chips, leaving none to make himself stronger!

As if I, the clever Uchiha Yoru, would fall for that!

The Lazy Points he earned each day also depended on his strength. According to the system, there was a difference between a Genin lying around all day and a Kage Level Ninja sleeping all day.

Uchiha Yoru could just about accept that explanation.

If he wanted more Lazy Points, he had to grow stronger. But growing stronger took Lazy Points, which meant he could not spend them on tasty food!

Apparently, because games did not exist in this world, playing them earned an unusually large number of Lazy Points. So Orochimaru needed to come to him, and fast.

He could start using some of his strength, too, as long as he did not fight at his full level.

Did it count as working hard if a Kage Level Ninja used only Genin-level strength? Surely not!

Given his current strength, he could probably use about as much power as Kakashi without a problem.

If he used his full strength, though, he would lose Lazy Points.

Sigh!

That was why he could not wait to bring Orochimaru over to help him make games. He still knew the Sealing Jutsu he had learned before. That should be enough to keep the current Orochimaru in check, right?

He already had plans to build a Gaming Empire with Orochimaru's help. What did the Akatsuki or Princess Kaguya have to do with him? Let Naruto and Sasuke deal with them!
