Background and History

Yoru is Fugaku and Mikoto’s son, Itachi’s younger brother, and Sasuke’s older brother. He refused both Ninja Academy enrollment and Fugaku’s attempt to teach him the Grand Fireball Technique, preferring to fish, eat, and sleep. His apparent idleness concealed unusual strength and knowledge of events that had not yet happened. Itachi could hear Yoru’s thoughts, though Yoru did not know it 2.

Expecting the Uchiha clan’s destruction, Yoru initially hesitated to interfere because his system warned that doing so would reduce his rewards. He chose to protect his family and clan anyway. He explained the clan’s political divisions to Itachi and encouraged him to question Konoha’s leadership. When Root attacked the Uchiha compound, Yoru watched Fugaku’s fight and prepared to step in if his father needed him 2 3 6.

Yoru later maneuvered Itachi toward the Hokage position. During the Konoha Crush crisis, he arranged for allies to keep Itachi from intervening in Hiruzen’s battle; after Hiruzen’s death, he confronted Danzō and used the Uchiha clan’s strength to press Itachi’s appointment as Fifth Hokage 29 33.

His interests extended beyond shinobi politics. He bound Orochimaru to an agreement to develop a game console and later steered his research toward computers and other technology. Yoru destroyed guns and bombs Orochimaru had built, fearing the harm they could cause 13 20.

He is also calculating. He recruits Orochimaru through a binding bargain, cultivates Gaara’s trust while privately considering him a future ally, and uses a political crisis to advance Itachi. His private conversation with his inner self reveals a less visible concern: despite reshaping Konoha with things he remembers from his previous life, he still misses home and does not fully feel that he belongs 13 19 29 91.
