The toll on Greedy Wolf's stamina would continue to affect him in the fight ahead.
After those two exchanges, Greedy Wolf still could not work out the nature of his opponent's Psychic Powers. But he could confirm one thing: the man's offense and defense were both strong enough to give him trouble.
Trying to understand why right now might do him no good.
In a clash between strength-based heroes, bringing an opponent down meant overpowering them with one's own strength.
If he could not break through the man's defense, then he simply was not strong enough.
Maintaining his speed while keeping his attacks powerful was nearly impossible.
But if he wanted his attacks to hit hard enough, he would have to risk a counterattack.
The problem was that his opponent's blows were frighteningly destructive. If he could help it, Greedy Wolf did not want to take a second punch.
Greedy Wolf looked down at the fist mark on his chest. Blood had pooled beneath the skin, turning the mark a deep purple.
That injury did not quite make sense.
Damage that severe beneath unbroken skin usually came from a heavy blow with a blunt object.
Yet with Greedy Wolf's current resistance to physical blows, any punch powerful enough to cause such an injury should have possessed an unimaginable amount of force. A direct hit like that should not have damaged only such a small area.
In theory, a blow that left this kind of bruise on his chest should also have shattered his ribs and injured his organs.
The fact that the damage was confined to the tissue beneath his skin meant the attack had not carried an enormous amount of force.
Greedy Wolf did not know how the man had done it, but it was very likely a feature
