Vought International headquarters, Round Table Meeting room.
It had not been long since the second Round Table Meeting, but the members of The Seven had been summoned again.
Unlike last time, the meeting had been called not by Homelander, but by Madelyn, the company's vice president.
Officially, The Seven had gathered. In reality, only six members were present.
The six, including Homelander, sat in their respective chairs, waiting for Madelyn to begin.
Homelander, as team captain, had always chaired The Seven's meetings, and Madelyn rarely attended. For her to summon them on such short notice, something unusual must have happened.
"All right, everyone. Now that we're all here, let's begin. We have two things to discuss today," Madelyn finally said. "First, let's welcome our new member."
Surprise appeared on every face.
A new member?
A superhero to replace Translucent?
None of them had heard a word about it beforehand.
Not even Homelander.
The shock on his face was unmistakable, as was the trace of anger beneath it.
When Starlight had replaced Lamplighter, Vought International had spent considerable time and effort building publicity for her. Long before she officially joined, every member of The Seven had been notified, and even the media and the public knew.
So why had this new hero's promotion come without warning? Why had no one been told?
The conference room doors slowly opened.
A short-haired woman in a black leather outfit walked in. She looked to be in her thirties.
"Hello, everyone," she said as she headed toward the seat that had belonged to Translucent.
They all recognized her.
Her superhero name was Queen Maeve, and she was the designated city hero of Seattle, a coastal city in the eastern Federation.
As the city hero of a major city like that, Queen Maeve held a position
