|---|---|---|
| Latent inherited powers | 1 2 | Recognizes his potential as a natural-born Supe and plans to develop it rather than follow the original Ryan’s upbringing. |
| Laser Eyes awakened | 3 | Anger triggers blue beams that burn through a thick tree trunk; he cannot yet activate them reliably. |
| Voluntary Laser Eyes | 4 | Months of practice let him fire the beams at will rather than depend entirely on anger. |
| Beam modulation and developing durability | 5 | Learns to vary beam strength. His own lasers scorch his skin but fail to pierce his arm at the tested intensity. See-Eye has also awakened by this point. |
| Flight awakened | 6 | Practices balance and steering after an initial crash, then flies above the clouds and beyond the estate walls. |
| X-Ray Vision awakened | 22 | Briefly sees through Starlight’s clothing and skin to her beating heart. |
| Compound V enhancement | 49 50 | A dose unlocks enough strength and laser power to defeat Homelander. The immediate boost fades and causes violent impulses. |
| Ranked ability panel revealed | 51 | Laser Eyes, X-Ray Vision, Long-Distance Vision, and Steel Body are listed at Lv. 1. The system permits upgrades through villainy and bad deeds. |
| Lasting post-dose improvement | 53 | After sleeping, finds his unboosted strength approximately equal to the previous night’s Compound V-enhanced state. |
| Steel Body Lv. 2 | 53 | Invests all 100 points earned for defeating Homelander. Homelander’s full-force punch subsequently barely affects him. |

| Overdose collapse | 57 | His powers nearly disappear after the Black Noir battle; he becomes dependent on allies for protection. |
| Partial Lv. 3 recovery | 58 | The panel retains Lv. 3 ratings, while Laser Eyes and both vision abilities are usable only at Lv. 1 during recovery. |
| Full Lv. 3 recovery | 65 | All four listed abilities are restored to Lv. 3. Ryan considers himself beyond the threats of his home world. |

| Superpower inheritance completed | 97 | Flight and inherited abilities finish unlocking in the Kamar-Taj world; Laser Eyes and both vision powers are explicitly restored at Lv. 3. |
| Mirror Dimension learned | 100 | Private lessons with the Ancient One let him open and control the dimension, briefly disrupting her manipulation of it. |
| Advanced Mirror Dimension control | 106 | Learns to reshape matter and seize or transfer dimensional control. His speed of mastery makes the Ancient One doubt she could easily take control back. |

Background / History
Transmigration and confinement
Ryan retains memories of a previous life in which he died in an accident involving milk and an electrical socket while watching The Boys. Conscious even as an infant, he recognizes his new identity and resolves to train his inherited powers instead of allowing them to go unused 1.
He grows up with Becca in a secluded villa surrounded by an enormous wall. Becca finds some comfort in its safety, but Ryan regards it as a prison. Although she is his birth mother, his transmigrated perspective initially leads him to think of her as an adoptive mother whom he hopes to repay 1 2.
At four, he begins training alone in the woods. Laser Eyes emerge through anger, while repeated practice brings deliberate control. Flight eventually gives him the means to cross the wall and experience ordinary city life 2 3 4 6.
Entering Vought and The Seven
During his first city excursion, Ryan stops A-Train from running into a child. Ryan survives the collision, but A-Train is thrown into a building and impaled. Ryan’s attempt to free him worsens the injury, and he leaves when another Supe arrives to avoid Vought’s attention 7.
Madelyn later recruits him into The Seven, hoping he can restrain Homelander. Ryan accepts but demands support for Becca if she chooses to leave the villa. At Seven Tower, he refuses to respect Homelander’s privileged seat or yield to A-Train’s warnings 11 12.
His first battle with Homelander ends in a stalemate after extensive destruction. Recognizing that a costly victory could leave him vulnerable to Vought, Ryan begins pursuing Compound V as a route to greater strength 25 26 27.
Compound V and the parentage revelation
Ryan intervenes when Homelander prepares to attack a passenger plane carrying a congressman and his child. Compound V enables him to win, but he suppresses its bloodlust and helps the injured Homelander toward land rather than killing him 49 50.
His system then reveals an ability-upgrade mechanism and warns that Black Noir will capture him for Vought’s breeding program. When Noir attacks, Ryan overdoses on Compound V, overwhelms him, and learns that Noir—not Homelander—is his biological father 51 55 56 57.
Vought helicopters fire on the weakened Ryan, apparently under Madelyn’s orders. Homelander destroys them and insists Ryan is his only son despite the biological revelation. Noir dies, while Ryan survives with his powers nearly exhausted 57.
After recovering, Ryan persuades Dr. Baum to resume Compound V research. He proposes collecting new Supes’ blood and genetic information to produce stronger versions, openly admitting that protection from unforeseen enemies is a central motive 58 63 65.
Other worlds and Kamar-Taj
After completing Nightmare Town, Ryan returns to New York with a Bio-Force Field reward. Only about two days have passed in his home world. Baum’s new Compound V subsequently fails to improve him, and General Zod’s arrival confronts him with a threat beyond Vought’s familiar Supes 75 76.
Ryan later reaches Kamar-Taj, where Kaecilius arranges his magical education in the hope of gaining a future ally. His system-granted Magic Talent and Super Brain let him advance rapidly under multiple teachers 79 82 86.
Kaecilius’s attempt to steal a forbidden book turns their mentorship into open conflict. Ryan’s inherited superpowers finish unlocking during their battle. The Ancient One then teaches him the Mirror Dimension and entrusts him with Kamar-Taj during her absence; Ryan also helps train Stephen Strange 97 100 106 108.
The Avengers and Doomsday
Ryan enters S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Cosmic Cube research program and is invited into the Avengers. His system requires him to allow the Chitauri invasion to reach New York before repelling it. He ultimately destroys the invading forces and throws two nuclear missiles through their closing portal 114 118 120.
The Ancient One names him Sorcerer Supreme before he returns home. There, he defeats Zod and temporarily contains Doomsday with Portals, becoming publicly celebrated as a protector and taking the head seat at The Seven’s meeting 120 121 122 124.
A subsequent Doomsday encounter leaves his body shattered and infected by reviving spores. The system begins repairing him at the expense of his remaining powers, while his surviving magic lets him help the Avengers recover Loki’s Scepter 127 128.
By the Ultron aftermath, Ryan has merged with Doomsday. He catches and safely lowers the falling landmass, then returns home and stops Homelander’s grief-driven rampage 134.
Infinity Stones and dimensional absorption
Assigned to gather the Infinity Stones and create a paradise, Ryan travels forward to the period after Ultron. He studies Black Magic with Scarlet Witch, later uses the Mind Stone and her hypnosis to turn Thanos’s commanders against their leader, and restrains the Infinity Gauntlet during the Wakanda confrontation 136 140 142.
Thanos nevertheless obtains six Stones by using time travel to take another Mind Stone from the past. Ryan’s own travels later leave him in a lost Kamar-Taj library, where he learns resurrection and a method of absorbing other beings’ powers 143 149 150.
Rather than consume Earth’s inhabitants, Ryan summons increasingly powerful dimensional beings. He absorbs Dormammu and several avatars before defeating Cyttorak. The Vishanti intervene, grant him additional power, and tell him to leave because his actions burden the universe 150 151 152.
Returning to the battlefield, Ryan absorbs the Infinity Stones and channels more Stones from across the Multiverse into himself. He ignores the Watcher’s disapproval, declares himself Homelander, and snaps his fingers 152.
Return to the merged world
Near-absolute power leaves Ryan bored rather than fulfilled. He returns to his home world seeking its familiar relationships and quiet surroundings, only to find a devastated planet a year after his departure. Suspecting his use of the Time Stone disrupted the timeline, he travels back instead of manufacturing a replacement world 153.
The system reveals that worlds are merging. In the resulting The Boys/DC world, histories and memories have changed alongside the setting. Ryan resumes an ordinary routine with Becca, Homelander, and Starlight, rejects Batman’s initial appeal for help against Steppenwolf, and later accompanies Wayne to recruit Barry Allen 154.
Appearance
Ryan’s face increasingly resembles Homelander’s as he grows older 153.
- Teenage appearance: A-Train describes him as looking like a teenager when Madelyn introduces him at Seven Tower 12.
- Superhero costume: Vought gives him a suit almost indistinguishable from Homelander’s, including a Stars-and-Stripes cape 59.
- Laser color: His eye beams are blue, contrasting with Homelander’s red beams 3 50.
- Doomsday form: A monstrous transformed body with bone spikes; dimensional absorption makes it increasingly muscular 134 151.
Personality
Ryan values freedom above obedience. His earliest goal is escaping the villa, and he consistently resists Vought’s breeding plans, intrusive attention, and attempts to make his powers a convenient tool. Even when the system orders him to kill Kaecilius, he insists the decision must remain his own 2 35 51 62 100.
His heroism is genuine but conditional. Childhood admiration for heroic films inspires him to help others, yet he openly balances rescues with his own interests. Saving the passenger plane protects innocent people while also obstructing Vought’s political ambitions 7 49 50.
Ryan can also be calculating and coercive. He promises to reunite Kimiko with her family while privately planning to exploit her regeneration, uses the Scepter to control Pietro, and later forcibly changes Thanos’s commanders’ loyalties 46 128 140 142. He recognizes his own hypocrisy and admits that unrestricted power could make him resemble Homelander 97 132.
With teachers, he is notably receptive and grateful. He studies seriously, tries to share difficult spells with Kaecilius, and gives defeated instructors opportunities to preserve their dignity. His stubbornness supports both relentless childhood training and rapid magical study 6 82 88 93.
He often hides affection behind teasing or indifference, partly because caring for someone creates leverage against him. Nevertheless, he supports Becca, gradually notices Homelander’s awkward sincerity, and ultimately prefers his existing relationships to a perfect world of his own creation 32 63 153. His pursuit of strength also carries loneliness: even while absorbing dimensional beings, he admits wanting someone to talk to 151.
Abilities & Skills
Inherited Superhuman Physiology
- Strength: Progresses from matching Homelander to effortlessly defeating Black Dwarf; after merging with Doomsday, even his human form can stop Black Dwarf’s axe with one finger 25 139 140.
- Steel Body: Protects him from extreme impacts and attacks. At Lv. 2, Homelander’s punch barely registers; at maximum level, the panel describes it as “Unchanging through the ages” 53 154.
- Recovery: His wounded chest begins healing during Noir’s attack, and his powers recover after the overdose 55 57 58.
- Stamina: Can run for prolonged periods and repeatedly cast the Sword of the Vishanti without the exhaustion his teachers expect 82 86.
- Limits: Black Noir initially overwhelms him, Compound V overdose nearly removes his powers, and Doomsday spores leave his body critically damaged 55 57 127.
Laser Eyes and Enhanced Senses
- Laser Eyes: Fires adjustable blue beams. They overpower Homelander’s heat vision and destroy Chitauri machines resistant to his elemental spells 5 50 120.
- X-Ray Vision: Locates people, stored Compound V, and targets obscured by buildings or water 27 50 55 134.
- Long-Distance Vision: Observes distant locations; its maximum form can also see into the past and future 33 154.
- Super Hearing: Hears quiet remarks during The Seven’s meetings and the traffic around him when returning through time 124 153.
- Maximum ratings: The final panel states that his laser light can shine across star systems and that nothing can hide from his X-Ray Vision 154.
Flight and Bio-Force Field
- Flight: Enables rapid travel, aerial combat, and control of engagements against opponents who cannot fly 6 25 56.
- Bio-Force Field: Senses danger, assists flight, and protects fragile objects from the stresses of superhuman handling 75.
- Large-scale application: Spreads the field across a falling landmass so he can support and lower it without tearing it apart 134.
Super Brain and Research
- Accelerated analysis: Processes spellbooks, complex incantations, and combat movements at extraordinary speed 82 88 93.
- Memory: Recalls watched films vividly and commits the lost Kamar-Taj library’s collection to memory in roughly a day 114 150.
- Research assistance: Uses system-supplied scientific knowledge to contribute to Cosmic Cube experiments and studies Compound V with Baum 76 114.
- Combat coaching: Predicts Mordo’s actions and gives Strange instructions that allow the novice to defeat him 108.
- Teaching limitation: His understanding can be too complex for others; even simplified explanations of Walk of Ikonn exceed Kaecilius’s comprehension 93.
Portals and Mirror Dimension
- Portals: Uses them for travel, evacuation, interception, and redirecting enemy attacks. A Portal trick causes Kaecilius to strike one of his own followers 82 97 127.
- Battlefield control: Sends attackers into water or high into the air rather than meeting their attacks directly 86 136.
- Mirror Dimension: Reshapes buildings and terrain, traps attackers, and crushes a castle or enemies within altered space 106 128 129 140.
- Limits: His Mirror Dimension barrier eventually shatters under Doomsday’s strike and later under Thanos’s destructive release 123 143.
- Tool dependence: Early Portal entries require a Sling Ring, which the Ancient One specifically tells him to protect 84 100.
Magical Constructs and Elemental Spells
- Sword of the Vishanti: Conjures a fiery blade powerful enough to break the keeper’s shield 82 83.
- Energy Shield: Learns defensive constructs and experiments with alternative shapes; guns and missiles are ideas he considers, not confirmed spells at that stage 83.
- Walk of Ikonn: Creates coordinated duplicates capable of wielding Magic Spears or Swords of the Vishanti 93 94 97.
- Crimson Bands of Cyttorak: Binds castle guards and later helps restrain Thanos’s Gauntlet 128 142.
- Elemental magic: Uses amplified wind and Bolsaud’s Thunder against the Chitauri fleet 120.
- Shapeshifting: Learns a spell from Loki and uses it to assume an unfamiliar face for infiltration 116.
Black Magic and Mental Control
- Black Magic: Learns telekinesis, runes, and magic absorption while studying Scarlet Witch’s distinct magical tradition 136.
- Scepter control: Hypnotizes Pietro and orders him to fight Wanda 128.
- Combined hypnosis: Uses the Mind Stone with Scarlet Witch’s magic to compel Thanos’s commanders to defect 140 142.
- Telekinesis: Repairs terrain damaged during dimensional absorption 151.
Doomsday Transformation
- Physical amplification: Grants strength sufficient to support the falling landmass and durability that renders Homelander’s lasers harmless 134.
- Human-form benefits: Doomsday’s strengthening persists outside the monstrous transformation 139.
- Growth through absorption: His transformed body becomes stronger and more muscular as he consumes dimensional powers 151.
- Final classification: The status panel describes the transformed Ryan as a calamity to the Multiverse 154.
Resurrection and Dimensional Absorption
- Resurrection: Learns a technique capable of restoring the dead, though it requires enormous energy. No use is documented in the supplied passages 150.
- Absorption: Gains the powers of beings he consumes; summons progressively stronger targets from other dimensions 150.
- Confirmed targets: Dormammu and avatars of Shuma-Gorath, Chthon, the Dream Lord, Mephisto, and Cyttorak 150 151 152.
- Cosmic perception: Growing power lets him sense universe boundaries and the Watcher beyond them 151.
- Consequences: The Vishanti state that his actions burden the universe and order him to leave 152.
Infinity Stones Fusion
- Time manipulation: Reverses Dormammu’s destruction with two Time Stones and later travels back from his ruined home world 150 153.
- Internal fusion: Places the Mind Stone in his forehead, Time Stone in his heart, Power Stone in his wrist, Reality Stone in his brain, Soul Stone in his finger, and Space Stone in his back 152.
- Multiversal intake: Draws additional Infinity Stones through a Magic Circle from across the Multiverse 152.
- Snap: Releases rainbow light across the battlefield, planet, and into space; the complete effects are not specified 153.
- Uncertainty: Ryan suspects reckless Time Stone use caused timeline disruption, but this remains his explanation rather than a confirmed cause 153.
System
- Ability points: Awards 100 points for his first recorded Homelander victory, but only 10 for the repeat victory, preventing easy farming of the same opponent 53.
- Quest rewards: Grants abilities such as Bio-Force Field and Magic Talent, alongside travel and combat objectives 75 79 100.
- Villain chat plugin: Connects him with figures across worlds and offers abilities based on conversations. Ryan declines the Joker’s offered options 113 114.
- Repair function: Begins repairing his shattered body after the Doomsday encounter by consuming remaining powers 127.
- Changing control: Initially imposes uncomfortable objectives; by his multiverse-level stage, Ryan can refuse missions 100 154.

- Dr. Baum — Research collaborator. Agrees to resume Compound V development if Ryan provides a laboratory, staff, and preparation time 63.
- Kaecilius — First magical sponsor and Portal teacher, later an enemy serving Dormammu. Ryan remains grateful for his early help even before their relationship collapses 79 82 93 97.
