Two men lit torches and rode toward the forest.
Before they could get close, two Arrows whistled out of the trees and struck the gaps between the plates of their armor.
The torches fell. The two knights slumped over their saddles as their loyal horses dragged them back to their ranks.
Soon, two more knights advanced on foot, carrying shields large enough to cover their entire bodies.
Arrows flew from the forest and struck them again, but only left dents in their shields.
The Druids could not stand by and watch the forest burn. An Antler Druid rushed out, only to be ambushed by soldiers hidden behind the shields and trapped in a Magic Web.
"Damn it!"
The Elf Druid could hold back no longer. He sprang out and leaped between the treetops, firing Arrows one after another. But the knights had already raised their shields again, with the Antler Druid held in front of them.
"Ogal, come back!"
Serana called from behind him, but the Elf Druid, consumed by the flames of vengeance, would not listen. Vines spread like snakes and coiled around his legs.
"Serana, why are you stopping me?"
Serana's gentle murmur seemed to wash away his agitation. "Do you want one more person to die for us?"
"But they're burning the forest!"
The trees were already ablaze, and the fire was spreading fast. These humans had even brought Fire Oil in advance.
Serana chanted softly and called down rain to douse the flames. The Druid mages made Vines grow wildly and beat at the fire, but new flames sprang up elsewhere.
As the blaze spread, the falling rain could no longer put it out. Vines that caught sparks thrashed in the flames and crumbled to ash.
