With his wealth and connections, Annan slipped easily into the Oskulas Mercenary Company.
The Dragon-Slaying Team's strategist was certain Annan was the child of someone important in the Broken Mountains. The guess was not entirely wrong. After all, the city had a Palace built of gold and a Wanted Poster calling for the Evil Dragon's defeat.
The Raymond Family had every reason to send a family member to keep an eye on them.
And after Annan demonstrated his "abilities," the young Necromancer clutching a doll kept edging closer to him.
Annan had thought wearing Olmedo's face would spare him some trouble, but apparently it made no difference. Could his damned charm not be stopped even by a rather ordinary face?
Still, while some people liked him, others did not.
Gloria returned and stared at Rofi. "You're practically sitting on his lap."
"You wish you could." Rofi seized the chance to press herself against Annan's arm.
"Olmedo, I grilled this meat. Eat it or don't..." The cool, reserved Ranger handed him a skewer and turned her face away awkwardly.
Captain Reyne watched the scene, unsure whether recruiting this fellow had been a good idea...
On the bright side, at least they would not find themselves in danger now?
Then Reyne saw that even the usually steady Skeeter looked eager to join in.
"Even you..."
"He's rich. Don't you want to save Oskulas?"
Skeeter went over, taking Captain Reyne's train of thought with her.
"If you want to, just do it!" the boy mage told the distracted Reyne.
"I'm a Holy Knight."
Resolve set on his face, Captain Reyne walked over to Annan, who was surrounded by his own teammates, and drew a deep breath. "All of you, stop!"
Reyne commanded great respect in the Oskulas Mercenary Company. Everyone stopped at once
