Betty said Evelyn had poured too much emotion into the role and had begun to believe she was Rose. Young stage actors often had that problem. Actors short on money recovered with time; wealthy ones spent a few Gold Coins to have a Priest perform Divine Arts or a Mage cast the Clarity Spell.

Annan dragged Michael out of his room, where he had been studying a Spell Model, and brought him to the Felt Tent. There, he had a bewildered Michael cast the Clarity Spell on an equally bewildered Evelyn.
The Clarity Spell's glow washed over Evelyn.
"How do you feel?" Annan asked, watching her with concern.
"Like I've just woken from a nap... Jack, are you testing a new Spell?" Evelyn tilted her head.
Annan exchanged a grave look with the still-baffled Michael and Betty. "It didn't work at all..."
"What's going on?"
"You keep calling me Jack. Betty said you got too caught up in the role and can't tell reality from the Magic Film..."
Evelyn covered her mouth like a proper lady, just as Rose would, but a giggle still escaped her.
"I just thought it was fun, like living out another girl's life... If you don't like it, I can go back to calling you Annan?"
"No, it's fine if you like it."
It was a false alarm. If anything, it was a good thing: Evelyn was clearly much livelier than she had been in Pinglin Town.
Though if Faster saw this ladylike, lively Evelyn now, he might shriek like a woman who had stepped on a mouse: "What have you done to my Evelyn?"
