Jack and his companions, thrilled to have won invitations, crowded up to the Mage Tower. After showing their invitations to the guards, they chased one another into the lobby and wove nimbly through the crowd. A few brief shots captured the tower's splendor and the lucky winners' delight.

The audience simply went along with the images, but Honatan Mace sensed dazzling artistry in the shot spiraling up around the staircase.

When Jack reached the top of the Mage Tower, stood at a railing where he seemed able to touch the sky, and shouted, "I'm the King of the World!" the audience could almost see the King of the North in him. It grew hard to tell the Magic Film from reality.

Jack and his companions returned to their quarters. The scene shifted to Carl, played by Olmedo, and a young Rose. They argued, and Rose, who loathed the arranged marriage from the bottom of her heart, stormed out of the room and stopped by the second-floor railing.

In the lobby below, Jack was marveling at the Mage Tower when he spotted the elegant young woman in elaborate makeup and a fussy, old-fashioned gown.

Outside the Magic Film, his companions called to him, but they could not draw his attention away.

Deep underground, Annan called out and received no answer. He resisted the urge to investigate the mysterious remains that had guided him out and returned to the right side of the Cell.

Firelight spilled into the Cell, revealing a sleeping figure huddled in the corner.

Annan picked up a stone and threw it. It bounced away, and the snoring stopped. A pair of eyes gleamed faintly in the firelight.

The Greater Water Elemental cut through the stone bars. Annan left it outside to keep working on them and slipped
