The Bard lifted his Lute and began to play and sing onstage.
"How did you two meet?" the Skeleton King asked Annan.
"When I first arrived in Breeze City, I had some dealings with the Street Sweepers and helped them uncover a Ratfolk plot. This fellow was locked up in their Dungeon at the time. I even borrowed his Lute to compose 'My Heart Will Go On.'" As the Bard's melancholy voice filled the air, Annan drifted into memory.
"Those were wonderful days... Olmedo's father tried everything he could to kill me. We matched wits, and along the way, we worked together without ever saying so to root out the Ratfolk hiding in Breeze City."
Back then, Annan must have been at his wits' end and hated Augusta with a passion. But now that it was all over, the pain had faded. Time had mellowed the past...
No wonder some people loved looking back, whether the memories were bitter or sweet.
"You and Miss Olmedo have a history like that?" Falu asked curiously.
Annan came back to himself and joked, "Augusta bullied me, so I bullied his daughter."
Annan could make peace with Augusta. After all, Augusta had "only" tried to kill him...
But it would be much harder for Eldest Sister and Second Sister. At most, they wouldn't take their hatred out on Olmedo.
Annan wasn't the only one reminiscing. The Chaos Cult Bard's voice seemed to carry a magic that drew everyone who heard it into their memories.
Lilith hovered above the Gladiator Arena like an Observer, quietly watching everything that happened below.
