Ever since Binn had taken in the two little ones, Jack and Rose, his luck seemed to have turned around.
First came the chance to return to Free City for work. Then he actually got to speak with Lord Annan. Now Finance Minister Ingrid wanted him on her staff.
Things were looking up for the two little ones, too. Jack had become a companion to Lord Annan's daughter, and Rose had a bright future ahead of her.

And now Evelyn—the "real Rose"—wanted to interview him.
"Interview me? What is there to interview me about?" Binn was flattered and a little overwhelmed.
"Rose went from a little street urchin to being taken in by the people of Free City. After barely any training, her talent carried her almost all the way into the top hundred of Everyone's Singer. Isn't that quite a story?"
Hearing Evelyn put it that way, Jack thought it was impressive too.
But for the same reason he had turned down Ingrid, Binn had to spend today taking Rose around to perform.
"No rush. I'm free from today through Sunday!"
"I'll bring Rose to see you tonight."

After watching Evelyn leave, Binn went home full of emotion and hope for the future.
He barely slept that night. It wasn't the two little ones turning over and making the bed creak. He kept thinking about how to answer the interview questions tomorrow.
