Ellia "seized" the chance, sweeping her poisoned whip toward Moxi's head.
If the chain-bladed tip struck, Moxi's beautiful head would shatter along with the balcony door behind her.
Ellia's wild grin and the approaching blur of the whip filled Moxi's eyes. She tensed.

The vicious strike shattered the glass, and strands of Moxi's flying hair were sliced away.
Just as she could barely restrain herself from fighting back, the whip stopped a centimeter from her face. The shards of the balcony door flying toward the street froze too.
The shards flew backward and reassembled into an undamaged balcony door. It looked like a Divine Miracle... but it was only Restoration, a Second-Circle Spell.
Lilith's projection appeared before them.
"Stop, Dark Elf."

Ellia could not accept it. She had thought she was so close... She pulled hard on the poisoned whip, but the space around it seemed frozen. The whip did not budge.
"Why did you stop me from killing her?"
"Why shouldn't I?"
Lilith's answer left Ellia, whose eyes were bloodshot, speechless.
"Lord Annan is on his way. Do you need me to help you calm down with a Spell?" Lilith sounded as though she was mocking her, but it was a genuine question.

Ellia forced the answer through clenched teeth, then glared at Moxi. "I regret not killing you sooner."
"You couldn't have." Moxi looked calm, as though she had not nearly had her head smashed open moments ago. "If I'd fought back, you'd have died ten times over."
She was telling the truth, which only made Ellia's expression darken
