"You two stay. Everyone else, go rest. I have other arrangements for you."

The Chaos Cult members left, but twelve Ratfolk remained behind Albeck.

"You Ratfolk Things! Didn't you hear what the Six-Armed Snake Demon Commander said? Go rest!" Annan stepped forward like an eager lackey and challenged them.

Twelve pairs of scarlet eyes fixed on him at once. Annan stood his ground.

"Disperse."

Albeck raised a hand as he spoke, and only then did the twelve Ratfolk leave.

"At least you know your place." Annan swept Albeck with a disdainful glance, then returned to stand beside the Six-Armed Snake Demon.

The Six-Armed Snake Demon said nothing. She gave Annan, who had pressed himself close to her, a sidelong look.

"Sorry, Commander. I couldn't help myself..."
