"Rose! Rose is back!"
Outside Solz Magic Studies Academy, Annan drew cries of surprise as he helped Evelyn down from the carriage.
Students flocked over. Evelyn had felt a little self-conscious around these young aristocratic mages, but she soon regained her Breeze City composure and greeted them like a lady.
First, Annan had lunch with Rose in the Mess Hall before the entire student body, fulfilling their dream of seeing Jack and Rose together at last. Then he handed the plans to Vice Dean Boris.
He left all the miscellaneous work to Boris, including the wall built around Nine and Three-Quarters.
"Want to see my Lounge? I have a talking cat!"
"I'd love to!"
Evelyn saw Lily, but she couldn't hear her speak either. Lily could hear Evelyn, though, and played along by spinning around and meowing.
Vice Dean Boris assigned Evelyn the Professors' Lounge next to Annan's. If Annan had asked for the dean's office, Solz Magic Studies Academy would have given him that too.
"Would you like to look around Siltovis?" Annan asked Evelyn.
"Right now?" Evelyn hesitated. "Won't everyone who's seen the Magic Film surround us...?"
Back in Breeze City, the only time Evelyn hadn't been mobbed was when she stayed indoors.
"It's fine. I have a Carriage."
Evelyn assumed "Carriage" meant some grand Magic Item like an invisibility Cloak. Instead, Annan climbed into an actual Carriage and took her to the street beside Diagon Alley, which was still under construction.
Many of the people on the street were Magic Studies Academy students or mage apprentices. Annan and Evelyn's arrival caused the expected stir, but no one approached. The students had just seen them at the Academy; the ladies didn't want to interrupt Jack and Rose's reunion; and everyone else either recognized the family crest on the
