Annan wanted to correct Evelyn's misconception while she was still young. But he had more important things to do.
Tina brought over thirty-five Magic Stones. Annan said, "The ones unsuitable for screening are fine too... Never mind. Forget I said that."
Annan doubted the Demon Lord would object to watching two or more flesh worms entwined, or find them interesting.
But if he did take an interest, that would be trouble...
Annan put the Magic Stones into his Magic Ring, then suddenly remembered something. "What's their total running time?"
"I don't know. Who calculates that sort of thing?"
I do, Annan thought.
The running time of the Magic Films determined how Annan would arrange them—and how long he would have to endure a beating. If five Magic Films ran for seven hours and ten minutes in total, for example, he could take a ten-minute beating between screenings.
But if he accidentally brought more than eight hours' worth of Magic Stones, the Demon Lord certainly wouldn't give him the extra time back. A dozen minutes less pain now would mean a dozen minutes more later.
Back at the City Lord's Mansion, Annan curled up on a Sofa in the more private upstairs living room, where he ran into Idelia coming out of her office for a break.
"You look like you need some rest."
Annan went over to take hold of her Wheelchair and pushed his eldest sister beside the Sofa, then collapsed back into it as though he had no bones. "I think so too, but I can't rest until tonight."
"Why wait until tonight?"
"Because... you're right."
Why dutifully wait until tonight and then endure eight hours of beatings? If he slept for an hour now, he would only get beaten for an hour... That was much better than
