Femi's roar echoed through the Hell Mountain Camp.
Cavalrymen lying throughout the Camp forced their still-weakened bodies upright and headed for the front line.
Femi had Ymir, the Elf Mage, lead the surviving mages in raising the Magic Barrier.
Illymoyas took the White Dragons into the sky. The Ratfolk Priests would be easier to find in daylight—but the priests would find it easier to spot them, too.
"How many fighters do we have left?"
The Mage Corps was down to a third of its strength. The Elite Squad and Fourth Legion were almost untouched, but Hellfire had lost a fifth of its troops...
A fifth of the Cavalrymen had contracted the Rat Plague. That meant a fifth of their firepower was gone.
And with visibility better by day than by night, the Rat Tide would only be denser.
"We can't spare the rolling stones and logs anymore... Start throwing them when the Rat gets within fifty meters," Femi said.
Why fifty meters? Because last night, they had discovered that thirty meters wasn't enough for the stones and Logs to reach full speed.
Femi also brought the Goblins up from underground and stationed them behind the Soldiers to reload for the sharpshooters who could hit their targets.
The wait as the Rat Tide came down the mountainside and into range was more agonizing than expected. When Femi fired the first shot, the Camp erupted once more in a chaotic cacophony.
Ratfolk fell in swathes like wheat before a scythe, dragging down those behind them. But faced with their endless numbers, the Warriors felt no joy in killing the enemy.
They pulled triggers, cleaned barrels, and loaded ammunition like machines. Whenever the Ratfolk drew close, Femi roared for them to throw the stones and Logs, and the back-and-forth began
