Just as the Ratfolk's foul breath was close enough to smell, someone thrust a letter into Locran's arms.
"You should pick someone else. I'll probably die with you." At a time like this, Locran had stopped shaking.
"Then pass it to someone else when you're dying!"
The young Cavalry soldier gently stroked his Magic Musket and climbed onto the wall.
"Die, Ratfolk!"
Laughing wildly, he curled himself into a ball and leaped.
The young Soldier turned himself into a rolling stone and knocked down several Ratfolk, which toppled others in turn.
Other Cavalry soldiers with Ratfolk nearly upon them followed suit, using their own bodies to slow the charge.
"Children, you don't have to do this! We still have a chance!" Instructor Lerick cried in grief at the sight.
Adjutant Walter drew a deep breath. "I'm glad I got to fight alongside you..."
"Don't be stupid!"
Femi grabbed the adjutant as he leaned forward and shouted, "Everyone, abandon the Camp! Retreat underground! We'll hold out there until six!"
"Lady Illymoyas, please clear us a path!"
Illymoyas crushed every Wind Rat that came near as though stepping on insects. She drew a deep breath, then a surging blast of Dragon Breath incinerated the Ratfolk along a path more than ten meters long.
The Hellfire Legion retreated first, then the Goblins. The Elite Squad and Orcs brought up the rear.
"We'll keep them occupied up here."
Illymoyas rose into the air. The gale from her wings hurled away the Ratfolk climbing over the edge.
Belial was the last to retreat. Before entering the
