The magnificent Free City floated beside High Mountain City for three days.
Floating Cities were a rare sight in the Northern Frontier. After all, few nobles who could afford an Arcane Core chose to live there. More importantly, they were impractical.
A Floating City could block the wind at high altitudes, but not the cold. What was there to see in a bare lump of ice hanging in the sky? And a treasure capable of keeping a Floating City warm year-round cost nearly as much as the city itself.
So nobles and mages flocked to Free City for the spectacle. The Theater, which had seen few new visitors since the city took flight, was packed again.
Annan had decided to keep Free City out of this mess. Dimon Kingdom had no objections, but the Orr Empire sent an envoy to ask what was going on.
"McKennen has two empires and the Allied Forces leading the resistance. We believe Dimon Kingdom, which faces a demon threat, needs our help more."
