Word of Annan's departure reached High Mountain City. Before leaving, he still had to go down to the ground to say goodbye.
"The Dimon Kingdom will remember what you've done..." The old king looked at him with admiration and emotion. "When we drive back the demons and reclaim the Old Land, may we invite you to witness it?"
"It would be my honor," Annan said with a bow.
He did not see the Third Princess; apparently, she had been confined to her quarters. Annan asked the old king to say goodbye to her for him, then went to see the Holy Grail Knight.
"Strive to become an honorable Holy Grail Knight. The Lady of the Lake is watching over you..." Delatorre gave Annan his blessing.
Finally, Annan went to see Grand Marshal Garkin. He waved a hand. "You're going to Montreal Mountain? Here's some advice: learn to be a proper politician."
"I don't understand."
"When someone pokes you in the head and tries to rile you up, no matter how angry you get, don't let them see what you're thinking."
Annan shook his head. He still did not understand.
Grand Marshal Garkin looked exasperated. "Even if you've already decided how to kill the enemy standing in front of you, you still have to speak to him with a smile."
"Why?"
"There's no why. Hiding what you think is a basic rule of being a proper politician."
"...I'll remember that."
Annan also asked Grand Marshal Garkin to keep an eye out for Six-Armed Snake Demons and notify Commercial Street at once if he found any trace of them.
After returning from High Mountain City to Free City, Annan went back to the City Lord's Mansion.
"Have the Mage Tower make an announcement. Free City will leave in thirty minutes."
