The next day, Shen Bing returned to the library to read while he waited for the delivery call.

He wanted to hire a headhunter to find him a professional manager right away, but under the circumstances, finding the right person would be difficult.

His only option was to wait until the first batch of products was ready. By then, any capable professional manager would know what to choose.

Shen Bing sat in a chair, rapidly flipping through a book titled Principles of Crystal Oscillators and Clock Systems.

Everyone who passed him gave him a curious look.

His nickname, the Book-Flipping Weirdo, had already spread across the University of Electronic Science and Technology campus.

"Are you looking for something in particular?" A sweet voice reached Shen Bing's ears, and he looked up before he could help himself.

A beautiful woman stood before him. She wore no makeup, yet her face was radiant, her skin flawless as white jade. Her brows curved delicately above a dainty nose.

Shen Bing knew this beauty.

Yuan Wei was a librarian. She had been a year ahead of Shen Bing and had stayed on after graduation.

Even now, countless admirers came to the Library just to catch a glimpse of her from afar.

"Is there something you need, Yuan Wei?"

Talking to a beautiful woman was certainly pleasant, but Shen Bing's time was precious. He could learn a great deal every minute, and wasting it on pointless conversation felt criminal. More importantly, he doubted a campus beauty with countless admirers would be interested in him.

Yuan Wei's elegant brows lifted. I'm a great beauty, after all. And this guy's getting impatient?

Still, she was not the sort to make a fuss, nor was she truly angry. "I've watched you flip through books here for three days. You must have gone through thousands by now, so I thought you might be looking for something. I'm a librarian. I wouldn't say I know every book here, but I know them better than you students do. If you need to find something, I might be able to help."

Her voice was as lovely as a songbird's first call.

"Thanks, but there's no need. I'm just browsing." Shen Bing gave an awkward smile. He could hardly say he was seriously reading them. People would think he was crazy.

"Then carry on browsing." Yuan Wei shot him an irritated look.

She had gone out of her way to help, and he had brushed her off.

And "just browsing"? Who browsed like that for days? Did he think she was all looks and no brains?

At that thought, she could not help glancing down. Well... I suppose they are pretty big.

What am I thinking? That guy must have annoyed me senseless.

I've got three hundred thousand left. After this month's wages and factory expenses, that leaves about two hundred thousand.

It'd be a waste to leave it sitting there. What should I do with it?

Right, the factory isn't very secure, and I can't afford guards yet. I could buy two big guard dogs and give them Basic Spiritual Wisdom Potion. That should do for now.

At noon, Shen Bing left the library, but his mind kept working as he considered how to make the most of the resources he had.

After walking a while, he spotted the burly Wang Bo coming out of a teaching building with a slender young woman beside him.

That bastard! Shen Bing cursed inwardly, though he was glad his friend was holding up so well.

Then again, perhaps Wang Bo was not resilient so much as he was carefree.

"Huh? Shen Bing, where are you headed?" Wang Bo spotted him and immediately came over, bringing the young woman along.

"I'm going to check on the Glass factory," Shen Bing said. "What, didn't Old Sun tell you guys when he got back yesterday?"

"You're kidding. You really took over that little workshop?" Wang Bo looked stunned. Shen Bing had sounded serious before, but none of them had quite believed him.

Why would a student at a top university run a Glass Factory that was little more than a workshop?

Granted, there had been a Tsinghua University graduate who sold pork, but that man had since become a pork tycoon.

That was hardly comparable.

Did Shen Bing plan to become a Glass tycoon?

No, that was getting ahead of things. The country's current Glass tycoons were worth billions.

"Don't worry. I know what I'm doing. I won't mess it up." Shen Bing smiled confidently. It gave his otherwise unremarkable face an unexpected appeal.

“Then get going. If you need any help, just give us a shout. I’m going to another job fair this afternoon to see if I can find something better,” Wang Bo said earnestly.

Shen Bing nodded, then parted ways with Wang Bo.

He took a taxi from the campus gate to the pet market in the West District of Rongcheng. At a shop specializing in large dogs, he bought two tall black-backed German Shepherds for just a few thousand yuan, delivery included.

A pickup truck brought Shen Bing and the two dogs to the Illusion Immortal Glass Factory. The driver left without saying much.

Shen Bing led the dogs into the factory—or rather, a small workshop. It didn’t even have a proper gate.

“Boss, you’re here.” A man in his thirties was standing outside the workshop. As soon as he saw Shen Bing, he hurried over to greet him.

The man was one of the factory workers, Dong Qiang, and knew a thing or two about Glass production.

On his way over, Shen Bing had called Dong Qiang and asked him to wait outside, since the materials would arrive soon.

"Where is everyone else?"

“Gangzi is showing them how to use the equipment. Once the materials arrive, we can start production right away. It’s just...”

“Just what?” Shen Bing asked, looking at him in confusion.

Dong Qiang said, “Boss, glass production isn’t all that technically demanding. Your factory may be small, but it can produce around two tons of sheet glass a day. If we start tomorrow, the finished stock will pile up fast. Have you found buyers yet?”

Dong Qiang had worked at this Glass Factory before, so he knew it had shut down because it couldn’t find buyers.

The industry was consolidating high-energy, polluting businesses like Glass Factories. Major purchasers and individual buyers alike preferred to buy sheet glass from large plants. A place like the old Stone Bridge Glass Factory had no market.

“Don’t worry about that. Once our product is ready, people will be lining up to buy it,” Shen Bing said confidently.

He had barely finished speaking when a truck pulled up on the road outside the workshop.

"Is this the Illusion Immortal Glass Factory?" The driver jumped down from the truck and approached them.

Shen Bing glanced at the truck. Its cargo bed was covered with a tarp, hiding what was inside.

"Yes, this is the Illusion Immortal Glass Factory, and this is our boss, Shen Bing," Dong Qiang said, quick to make the introduction.

The middle-aged driver looked at Shen Bing, apparently surprised that the boss was so young.

But the driver remained professional. “So you’re Boss Shen. I’m here on behalf of the Heavenly Source Mining Company to make a delivery. The ore you ordered is on the truck. Where would you like me to unload it?”

After exchanging a few words with the driver, Shen Bing left the arrangements to Dong Qiang. He was the boss, after all. If he had to worry about where to pile the raw materials, he wasn’t doing his job right.

His task now was to look after the dogs.
