Just a few minutes earlier, they had received word: an Alien Warship had been detected.
At the same time, a live tracking image had appeared on the screen.
Standing beside Mo Ban was a colonel named Jiang Le'an, a burly, straightforward man from the northeast.
At that moment, however, he felt rather conflicted.
Before coming here, he had received a direct order from his commanding officer's commanding officer: once he arrived, he was to follow Mr. Mo Ban's instructions.
But now they had actually discovered an Alien Warship—well, he didn't actually know whether that thing was an Alien Warship. He was just going by what Mo Ban had said. Besides, the red dot's bizarre speed was certainly beyond anything an aircraft on Earth could achieve.
Now that they had found the target, they should attack! Based on the information he had, this device was theoretically capable of destroying that Alien Warship outright—though he had his doubts about that theory.
Yet Mo Ban showed no intention of attacking. He simply watched the red dot's trajectory in silence.
How could this be acceptable? They were letting the opportunity to strike slip away.
Just as Jiang Le'an was wondering whether he should report the situation to his commanding officer, his phone suddenly rang.
He carried a dedicated military satellite phone. Nobody would ever call it except for work, and his current assignment...
At that thought, he dared not hesitate and immediately answered.
"Staff Officer Jiang, I am relaying an order from above: if an Alien Warship is detected, you must wait until it enters our territory before shooting it down. Remember, you must coordinate closely with Mr. Mo."
"Understood!" Jiang Le'an replied immediately.
After hanging up, Jiang Le'an felt rather miserable.
Understood? Understood my ass!
*Weren't we just here to assist Mr. Mo?
