Six angels descended from the sky—four men and two women. They were handsome and graceful. It seemed that female angels were rare among the angel race; even including these two, only six of the eighteen angels were female.
After landing, the six angels bowed slightly to the Grand Minister, the Zenos, and the others before calmly looking at everyone present.
Lord Beerus asked Whis in surprise, "Weren't their universes cleared out long ago? How can these angels still exist?"
Whis replied, "Lord Beerus, you may not know this, but when a universe is cleared out, only the God of Destruction and Supreme Kai within it are removed. Angels are not among those being cleared."
Lord Beerus frowned. "You mean that even if a universe disappears, the angels will remain unharmed?"
Whis covered his mouth and chuckled. "Precisely."
"That's not fair. Why do angels get special treatment?"
This was the first time Lord Beerus had heard of such a thing, and he immediately felt resentful.
"Because we are angels. We only enter universes to regulate the behavior of Gods of Destruction like you, Lord Beerus. We ourselves belong to Lord Zeno."
Whis said with a smile, looking rather pleased with himself.
Angels existed like observers sent from a higher realm to a lower one. While regulating the actions of Gods of Destruction, they maintained the balance of the universe. Unlike life that evolved within universes, they had been born from the Grand Minister and served to stabilize the entire cosmos. Even if all universes entered their next cycle, angels could simply move elsewhere and continue living.
"You really have it good!"
All his envy condensed into one sentence as Beerus spoke sourly.
"We are different." Whis nodded seriously.
That serious expression only made Beerus even more irritated.
The Grand Minister smiled
