"Southern Jambudvipa?"
Chen Cuo frowned.
At first, my mortal body clouded my judgment. Lost in the mundane world, I thought I had simply gone back to ancient times and even planned to rise as a second son. Only later did I discover this was a world where Divine Abilities were real. All those plans lost their foundation. Fame and fortune were passing clouds, so I entered the Way in search of Longevity...
He recalled the two elders, Black and White, saying his Peach Paradise was merely a patch of riverbank, with no view of the river's full course.
But it might just be a name, with no deeper meaning... At that thought, Chen Cuo swept his gaze across the bookshelves. There should be other records here. Perhaps he could find some to compare.
Yet even though there were far fewer books than outside, at least a hundred or two hundred volumes stood before him. Finding useful information among them would be no simple task.
Fortunately, he had another option.
Chen Cuo set down the book and turned to cup his hands toward the two elders, Black and White. "There are a few things I'd like to ask."
"Ask away." Elder Sheng, the black-haired one, opened his eyes with a smile.
Before that, his surroundings had been deathly still. The moment he opened his eyes, a sense of all things stirring back to life spread through the room.
Chen Cuo marveled inwardly. "I've heard a few curious stories. I couldn't tell whether they were true, but since I've finally met you both today, I thought I'd ask."
"Of course. Tell me, and I'll help you sort truth from falsehood." Interest showed on Elder Sheng's face. "A tale that catches the attention of the Marquis of Linru County can hardly be ordinary."
