"The Divine Path has been established, but perhaps because the Incense Way has had less time to develop than the other paths, no hierarchy has truly taken shape within it. Then again, Hou Jing tried to establish a path that could stand alongside cultivation and the other great paths, but failed. By the same reasoning, did someone stir up a storm as great as his to establish the Incense Way?"
He had found no trace of such a thing in the Book Grotto on Book Mountain.
"Perhaps once I learn how to explore the River of Time, I'll find the truth in what the past has left behind..."
As he pondered, the three deities saw their chance. Knowing Chen Cuo was observing them, they stepped forward one after another, cupped their hands, and introduced themselves.
"My lord, I am the Lord of the Huai River. I oversee all its waterways." The Lord of the Huai River had a refined appearance.
Chen Cuo nodded and focused on him. Divine light immediately shimmered around the Lord of the Huai River, incense power spread, and a solemn air arose, accompanied by the voices of countless people. A thread of starlight stretched fitfully from him, all the way to the heavens!
In a daze, Chen Cuo saw a great river lying between North and South. Countless waterways branched from it, densely covering the vast plains!
