Two figures stood at the summit, one tall and one short, one powerfully built and the other slender. They could hardly have looked more different, yet they shared one feature: both had vertical pupils, like beasts!
Black shadows coiled around them both, obscuring their outlines.
The burly one spoke in a rough voice. "It's that Mount Taihua disciple who came rushing back. Looks like he's already fighting Qi-Seer, but his cultivation is nowhere near Qi-Seer's. He actually dared to attack?"
The slender one gave a soft laugh and said in a sweet voice, "I met Qi-Seer when he traveled through the Northern Kuru Continent years ago. He had already attained Eternal Longevity then, and his qi-observing Divine Ability let him seek good fortune and avoid harm. He retreats from danger and acts when opportunity appears. The slender figure was a woman.
