The whole temple trembled with the buzzing.
Pilgrims and visitors walking through the temple froze, alarm on their faces. Thinking it was the warning sign of an earthquake, they fell into confusion in the blink of an eye.
Just then, several young novice monks hurried out to guide and reassure them, finally settling the commotion.
But once everyone had calmed down, the young novice monks turned worried faces toward the Great Hero Hall.
On a plane invisible to mortal eyes, streams of Golden Light Buddha Light flickered ceaselessly. They seemed intent on escaping the hall, but an unseen force enveloped them and held them back!
"Ugh!"
In the Secluded Courtyard halfway up the Rear Mountain, a weather-beaten monk sat cross-legged. His hands shifted through seals, releasing waves of Buddha Light that sealed off the entire temple.
But judging by his repeated muffled grunts, it was no easy task.
"Dharma Master..."
Before him, a monk bowed with age watched his Dharma Master's face grow steadily paler and could not help sighing. "Why put yourself through this? This was planned by the Upper Realm, after all. The incense and Buddha Light accumulated by the Buddha's Golden Body in our temple were meant for the Buddha Land to draw upon from the start. If you stop it by force, you may damage your foundation, and afterward, you'll be held to account."
The seated monk sighed and raised his head, forcing out the words. "Grandmaster, I was only able to enter the Dao because of the great kindness Lord showed me years ago. How could I repay kindness with ingratitude? Even if the Buddha condemns me, I cannot do that!"
