Pan Long seemed not to notice the sneak attack from behind. The gray-green wall snapped shut around him.

Spencer's ambush had worked, and he could not help laughing with excitement. Countless sharp teeth sprang from the wall and bit fiercely at Pan Long's flesh, trying to tear him apart.

But those teeth could not even reach Pan Long's body.

Before they could sink in, an invisible force stopped them cold.

Pan Long used the force of that collision to retreat from the room, escaping Spencer's trap.

Seeing him break free, Spencer roared in fury. The entire house writhed and twisted out of shape. Gray-green tentacles sprouted from it and lashed toward him.
